The Sustainable Aquaculture Research Group provided three presentations at the first Stirling Salmon Science Symposium which was held at the Institute of Aquaculture on 12th August 2016. The event was organised by Professor Brett Glencross and was attended by staff, students and many people from industry and related organisations. It was an opportunity to showcase the range of research carried out at the Institute of Aquaculture relevant to the salmon production industry and encourage the establishment new links and collaborations. The presentations from the Sustainable Aquaculture Research Group were:

- Trevor Telfer - Scottish salmon and the environment - past and future
- Francis Murray - Transparency achievements after four years of the Global Salmon Initiative
